The Alpena Authority for Brownfield Redevelopment was formed in March 1997 to promote the revitalization, redevelopment and reuse of contaminated, tax reverted, blighted or functionally obsolete property under Act 381, P.A. 1996, as amended.

The Authority has been actively promoting brownfield redevelopment by approving brownfield plans to stimulate investment on contaminated sites and receiving an EPA Brownfield Assessment Grant to position property for redevelopment.

We encourage members of the community to share their thoughts and ideas about brownfield redevelopment and to learn more about this exciting initiative in City of Alpena.
